Joe has been playing music since his early childhood, and has 15 years of teaching experience. He earned a Bachelor's of Music from Berklee College of Music in Performance and Jazz Composition, and continued his studies at Boston Conservatory, where he earned a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance. He is the ideal teacher for those interested in rock, jazz, and improvisation.

 

Joe performs throughout the New England area as a founding member of the Boston Jazz Trio . Recent projects include the formation of the eclectic world/free/progressive rock band Tamandua . Joe is also an accomplished studio musician, and has composed and recorded everything from TV & film soundtracks to a highly acclaimed studio album with former Frank Zappa alumni Mike Keneally. He is a prolific composer in rock, jazz, avant-classical and microtonal-pop music, and is heavily involved with guitar looping and sound manipulation.

 

Joe's combination of performance, teaching, and recording experience make him an ideal teacher for both the novice learner and the seasoned professional. Joe supplements his lessons with various teaching tools, including a laptop, looping devices, and pro audio software (Logic).
