Originally from Atlanta, GA, violinist David Palombo is currently pursuing a Master's of Music Education and Musicology at Boston University where he performs with the BU Baroque Orchestra and studies with violinist Jane Starkman. In 2006, David graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. His performance credits include the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Hollywood Concert Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra and music festivals such as Recontres Musicales Internationales des Graves, Meadowmount School of Music, and Eastern Music Festival; additionally, David has performed on tour with various orchestras in China, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the United States. His former teachers include Cyrus Forough, MaryBeth Glasgow–Schotting and Ilya Fishov.

Although classically trained, David has experience playing many styles of music. While studying at Carnegie Mellon, he performed with a Jazz string quartet and from 2003–2004 received weekly coaching from Dave Pellow, the director of Jazz studies. Since then, David has expanded his repertoire to include Appalachian fiddle, Klezmer and Sephardic music.

David is truly passionate about teaching and has extensive experience with violin and viola students ages 4–adult, beginner–advanced levels. From 2006–2010, he maintained a large private teaching studio in Atlanta, GA with up to 45 students and was a regular guest instructor at Centennial and Johns Creek High Schools and Holcomb Bridge Middle School. His private students have received many honors and have been selected to perform in various ensembles and festivals including All–State Orchestras, the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, Metropolitan and Emory Youth Symphony Orchestras, Brevard and Sewanee Music Festivals, and the Governor's Honors Program, among others. David has over seven years of private teaching experience and twelve years of professional performance experience.

David strongly believes in tailoring his teaching methods to the unique needs and desires of each student. Therefore, he incorporates both Suzuki and traditional methods into lessons and always searches for engaging ways to introduce the fundamentals of violin technique (posture, left and right hand positions and execution, tone production, etc). David supplements lessons with exercises in ear training, note reading, music theory and history, scales and etudes and fun solos of the student's choice.
