Policies
All Page Music Lesson Center students are required to sign a copy of these Student Policies when registering for lessons.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Page Music features acclaimed instructors, and we are confident that you will receive excellent instruction. However, if you are not satisfied with the quality of instruction after your first lesson, Page Music will grant a full refund.
Payments
Payments must be made in full, at least one week in advance of your first lesson. Payments may be made: (1) by phone at 617.267.PAGE (2) by email, (3) at our secure online store (4) in person by appointment, and (5) by mail (check/money order). We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, checks, and money orders. All lessons and lesson plans are nonrefundable *(see our guarantee above).
Scheduling
Lessons are scheduled at the time of purchase with the Page Music office. We strongly recommend weekly lessons. However, other arrangements are possible, and a lesson every week is not required.
Plans A / B: For ultimate flexibility, single lessons may be scheduled one at a time, and a lesson may be rescheduled with 4 business day’s notice. You may reschedule each lesson purchased only one time.
Plans C / D: All 4 lessons are scheduled at the time of purchase.
Plans E / F: For your convenience, your 10 lessons are scheduled 5 lessons at a time. The first 5 are scheduled at the time of purchase. Upon completion of the first 5 lessons, please visit the Page Music office – or – the remaining 5 lessons will be automatically scheduled, via email, by the Page Music office at your regular lesson time for the next 5 consecutive weeks. If any of these dates do not work for your schedule, your prompt reply (w/in 48 hours of when Page Music sends the email) is required to make any adjustments. For additional information, visit our Scheduling Page.
Student Cancellations and Make-ups
Once lessons have been scheduled with the Page Music office, you may not reschedule or cancel the lessons for any reason. However, your instructor will offer 1 make-up date per semester*, outside of their regular weekly teaching days. You may make-up any 1 of your missed lessons during that semester on your instructor’s make-up day. *(3 semesters per year – Sept-Dec, Jan-April, May-Aug.) If your instructor offers a supplementary ensemble class, your attendance can count as your make-up lesson for that semester, in which case Page Music will waive your ensemble class fee. Make-ups are not available to students on Plans A or B.
Instructor Cancellations and Time Off
In the unlikely event that an instructor must cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience. If a substitute teacher is available, you have the option of taking your lesson(s) with the sub. If your instructor takes scheduled time off, Page Music may line up a sub, and while studying with the sub is encouraged, the choice is yours. Weather: During inclement weather, lessons will go on as scheduled unless the City of Boston declares a state of emergency. Students should call 617-267-PAGE or email the Page Music office to check on weather-related closings. During winter weather, Page Music encourages you to use the T, conveniently located across the street.
Late Policy
Our instructors are timely, and Page Music strives to run on schedule 100% of the time. We expect you to be on time as well. But if you are running late, your instructor is required to wait for half of your scheduled lesson time, after which time you will be considered absent. If an instructor is late for a lesson, he/she will add the time at the end, or to a future lesson. If you are concerned about your instructor’s timeliness, please consult the Page Music office right away.
Gift Certificates
As a gift certificate purchaser, you must agree to these policies, but you do not need to schedule any lessons. The recipient must also agree to these policies, and may begin their lesson plan at any time. Gift certificates are transferable but are not refundable.
And Finally
This policy form must be completed at the time of the lesson plan purchase; for phone or online sales, it must be completed and turned in to the instructor before the first lesson begins. These policies apply to the initial lesson plan and all future lesson plans, including any lesson plans purchased for others (family members, gift certificates, etc.). Page Music reserves the right to change these policies at any time.
