Membership Plan Policies
All Page Music Lessons students are required to review these Student Policies when registering for lessons.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Page Music Lessons features acclaimed instructors, and we are confident that you will receive excellent instruction. However, if you are not satisfied with the quality of instruction after your first lesson, Page Music Lessons will grant a full refund.
Enrollment and Payments
Members may enroll at any time, and the first month will be prorated if starting in the middle of the month. Enrollment is available year round, and must be completed at least one week in advance of the first lesson.
Upon enrollment, members pre-pay for the first month and an additional month of their membership. Membership accounts are always paid one month forward for each subsequent month, the members card on file will be automatically charged for an additional month on the 3rd of the month. The payment will be based on a 4-week month (see Adjustments below). Example: If you join on Jan 1, you pay for Jan and Feb up front, and on Feb 3 your card is automatically charged for March; etc.
For the automatic monthly charge, a credit/debit card must be retained on file. However, members may choose to make their payments by other methods if arranged with the Page Music office and paid prior to the 3rd of each month.
Scheduling
Upon enrollment, members choose a weekly lesson day/time. Members will be automatically scheduled for that day/time for all weeks, with the following exceptions:
1. The following national holidays - New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve.
2. The members instructor has a scheduled date off;
3. The member requests a given date off, with two weeks notice, through the Page Music office.
If the instructor or member needs a specific date off, members are encouraged to find an alternate date within the same week. Our instructors teach on multiple days of the week, and usually offer alternate dates for their time off requests. Page Music will also offer lessons with a sub.
If a member requests a given date off with proper notice (2 weeks), and no alternate lesson date will work within that month, the member is not charged for that lesson (see Adjustments below).
With proper notice (2 weeks), a member may request to change their regular weekly lesson day/time. Subject to instructor availability.
In the unlikely event that an instructor must cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience. If a substitute teacher is available, you have the option of taking your lesson with the sub. If no alternate lesson date will work within that month, the member is not charged for that lesson (see Adjustments below).
Scheduling Requirements
In general, the Membership Plan is a weekly lesson program. Members are expected to take a minimum of 10 lessons per every 3 months. While this is more of a guideline than a rule, if a member has special scheduling needs, please consult with the Page Music office. With two weeks notice, members may request to put their membership on pause, particularly if you will be out of town for an extended period or other special circumstance. Depending on the details, the member may be required to schedule a new weekly day/time when you resume the membership.
Attending lessons twice a week and studying multiple instruments are also options for members (for additional fees) - please consult with the office to see if its right for you.
Make-up Lessons
As mentioned above (see Scheduling), members may request to reschedule any lesson with two weeks notice, through the Page Music office. With less than 2 weeks notice, a member may request to cancel a lesson, for which the member is then eligible to attend one private make-up lesson per term (3 terms per year Sept-Dec, Jan-April, May-Aug). The make-up lesson must take place on your instructors make-up date, near the end of each term. Make-up lessons are to be in addition to the members normal weekly lesson not an added weekly lesson. Members are also eligible for group/master class make-ups (offered 2 times per year Mar, Nov). Members are responsible for scheduling their make-up lessons.
Dropouts
Members do not need to commit to a long-term contract. To dropout, members must give one months notice by submitting a simple dropout form to the Page Music office by the first of the month. The form can be completed in person, by email, or by phone. The dropout form must be received by the first of the month, or the members card on file will be charged for an additional month (on the 3rd). The monthly automatic payment will not be refunded once submitted.
Adjustments and Refunds
All lessons, lesson plans, and automatic monthly payments are nonrefundable*. Page Music will review and adjust each membership account on a quarterly basis (1/1, 4/1, 7/1, 10/1). As the automatic monthly payment is based on a 4 week schedule, it is possible that a member will have a credit or debt. The credit/debt will be factored into the payment amount for that months automatic payment (1/3, 4/3, 7/3, 10/3).
*See Satisfaction Guarantee above; and if the members primary instructor leaves the Page Music staff, members are required to take at least one lesson with a new Page Music faculty member. If this proves unsatisfactory, Page Music will grant a refund for any remaining credit.
Weather
During inclement weather, lessons will go on as scheduled unless the City of Boston declares a state of emergency. Students may contact the Page Music office to check on weather-related closings. During winter weather, Page Music encourages students to use the T, conveniently located across the street.
